At the competition organized by the Stiftung Buchkunst, two expert juries select the 25 most beautiful books of the year in a multi-stage process. The books are exemplary in design, conception, and craftsmanship, showcasing a wide range of creative and production possibilities. Five books are awarded in each of the following five categories: “General Literature,” “Scientific Books, Professional Books, School and Textbooks,” “Guides, Non-Fiction,” “Art Books, Photo Books, Exhibition Catalogs,” and “Children’s Books, Young Adult Books.”
On June 17, 2024, the 25 award winners were announced at the Bücherbogen bookstore in Berlin.
The award ceremony took place on September 6, 2024, 7 pm at Museum Angewandte Kunst in Frankfurt/Main.
The 25 Most Beautiful German Books are presented at numerous locations, including the Frankfurt Book Fair from October 16 – 20, 2024.
